Italy: Pisa

Our drive from Milan to Pisa was unnerving. Kelly, our American driver, was more used to driving automatics, which only added to the discomfort of squeezing 5 people into a tiny Fiat Panda. The situation was made much worse when the two girls decided that the Glee soundtrack would be appropriate driving music. Let’s just say I was glad of a break in Pisa.

Pisa itself doesn’t really have a tonne to offer (not from what I saw anyway). It was January, so not exactly peak tourist season, which was good – the place was nice and quiet. I can proudly say I refrained from taking one of those stupid photos where you pretend to hold up the leaning tower. We only stayed for an hour, then it was off to Florence!
